The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the LORD” (John 1:23)

A Gospel Compendium

Matthew 5:
44   “…I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45   that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Luke 6:37   “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Luke 17:4   “And if he [your brother] sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him. ”

Luke 14:26   “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.”

Matthew 12:
48   But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”
49   And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
50   For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

Matthew 6:
19   “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
20   but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21   For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Matthew 16:25   “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

John 13:16   “Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.”

Matthew 18:
2   Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them,
3   and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
4   Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5   Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.”

John 1:12   But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name [Jesus]…

John 15:
5   “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6   If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.”

Luke 21:
34   “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day [the return of Jesus Christ] come on you unexpectedly.
35   For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36   Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Mark 10:
24   “…Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25   It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
26   And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”
27   But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

Mark 1:15   “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
